ABOUT US
Refugio del Mar is a retreat for those seeking peace and quiet, nature lovers and holidaymakers who appreciate something special.
The Refugio is located in a wonderful secluded spot directly on the coast of Puntagorda in the northwest of the Canary Island of La Palma, one of the sunniest locations in Europe.
Our three holiday villas are located on the completely fenced 80,000 square metre finca grounds and are individually furnished to a high standard with
great attention to detail.
Our aim is to offer our guests a relaxing and restorative holiday in a beautiful ambience. We attach great importance to sustainability: on the finca grounds there are three photovoltaic systems with a total output of 27.1 KWp, which cover individually the villas' energy needs throughout the year and also contribute to CO2 reduction by feeding the surplus energy into the local grid. Our holiday villas each have a charging station for electric cars for free charging with the available surplus energy.
Comfort and environmental protection are not contradictory.
The finca area is planted with endemic plants such as cacti and palms, as well as a variety of flowering and fruit plants such as citrus, avocado and olive trees.
We produce our own organic olive oil and also grow grapes and make our own wine.

VILLA PURA VIDA is a holiday villa for up to 4 people. The architect-designed villa is unique in its design, open in concept and captivates with its extraordinary room layout. It is furnished to a very high standard, has a heated infinity private pool and is enthroned on a rocky outcrop surrounded by palm and olive trees.
VILLA PERLA DEL MAR
VILLA PERLA DEL MAR is a holiday villa for up to 4 people. The architect-designed villa captivates with its Mediterranean chill-out ambience. It is located directly on the cliff in an absolutely secluded location with a spectacular panoramic view of the sea. It is equipped to a very high standard and has a heated infinity private pool.

SERVICES
Wine service
Our villas are each equipped with a wine cabinet and we offer a wine service. We are happy to provide you with our wine list, of course before your arrival if you wish, and you can place a wine order with us at any time. We will then deposit the wine in the wine cabinet of your villa before your arrival.
Coffee service
Our villas also each have a coffee grinder. We work with one of the most renowned German coffee roasters, from whom we source eco-certified speciality coffee from around the world. We are happy to provide you with our coffee menu, of course before your arrival if you wish, and you can place a coffee order with us at any time.
Delivery service for organic products
We work with a local producer of organic goat's cheese and vegetables who also runs a delivery service. The organic producer maintains a large assortment of organic products. You are welcome to place an order with us and we will arrange for the products to be delivered directly to your holiday villa.
Wine tour and wine tasting
As wine maker and wine lovers, we would be happy to share with you the special features of wine growing and making on the island of La Palma as well as the excellent wines. We are happy to organise a wine tour to our own vineyards on request and by arrangement. We also offer occasional wine tastings, gladly in our own bodega (by prior arrangement and order with a typical island meal) or in the bodegas of the Cooperativa Noroeste, in which we are also partners.
Horses
We have two horses in open stables. If you wish, you can visit them, feed them and learn more about horses. For experienced riders there is the possibility to go on a tour in company.
Guest information
A package of guest information is available for you in the holiday villa. This will guide you through all the essentials of the holiday villa as well as other useful information about the house (from A to Z), the surroundings and the island. For example, you will find out where to go for good food and shopping, which hiking routes we recommend, which can also be undertaken directly from the holiday villa on foot. It is important to us that you arrive on holiday immediately and have all the information you need.
